In continuation of Part 1 “Beliefs”, Justin explains the factors that influence our beliefs. He shares that in 3 stages of our life, different internal and external factors either influence or encourage us. Like from childhood to adolescence and adulthood, this is where our nature of framework that structures the foundation of our ideas begin. It could be our environment, parents, our peers, schools and others.
“We are born in this with world with no instructions, no road map and no idea how me got here. The only thing I know for sure is that we are responsible for our choices. Our choices can either be our best friend or worst enemy.”excerpt from Justin-Tillman.com.
Justin Tillman takes on “beliefs” as he explains what are they, how they develop and where they come from. Have you ever thought about how difficult it to change your thoughts?
In this first segment, he further explains that beliefs are perceptions that we feel without our knowledge. It is an external idea that has been accepted, therefore, it creates reality. I think, I believe, therefore it is.
Following the tremendous success of the book Children of China, this vision for Children of Africa was born.
With the team up of renowned fashion stylist Alethea Gold and award winning children’s photographer, Luca Zordan who worked together for many years, they compiled a beautiful photographic book showcasing children in China with all proceeds donated to the Chi Heng Foundation to support orphaned HIV/AIDS affected children in Central China.
In time for the Beijing Olympics, the book was endorsed by Jackie Chan with a full support of the Chinese Government and corporate support worldwide with the likes of Coca Cola, Citibank, KPMG, Qantas, MAC, Louis Vuitton, and many more.
The team is doing it this time in South Africa undertaking their time, pro-Bono, to the Children of South Africa project. 100% of the profits are being donated directly to the MaAfrika Tikkun charity (of which Nelson Mandela is the Chief Patron) to support orphans and vulnerable children in South Africa.
The Children of South Africa is a stunning photographic journey capturing South African children from every walk of life, set against some of the most beautiful landscapes and architecture. These powerful, emotive images will highlight the magic, diverse beauty and spirit of hope that is South Africa.
The book has been launched before the opening of FIFA World Cup which is being held in South Africa. It is a corporate gift which is not only a memento for South Africa but will make a genuine change especially for the South African children. The proceeds from the sale of the book will subsidize sports and soccer programs for HIV/AIDS affected orphans and vulnerable children in 6 townships.

Neil “The Treeman” Maher is a History Professor in New Jersey Institute of Technology. He travels extensively around the world studying trees. Lately, he was in Patagonia, Argentina to study one the oldest trees in the world, the Aryan trees and in California where one of the largest
and magnificent trees in the world can be found.
Neil “The Treeman” Maher wrote a book Nature’s New Deal where he studied the history of how President Roosevelt, during the 1930’s Great Depression formed the Civilian Conservation Corps to plant THREE BILLION trees. The book is about the bold and successful experiment of President Franklin D. Roosevelt, which was the turning point both in national politics and in the beginning of modern environmentalism. President Roosevelt formed the Civilian Conservation Corps and put them to work at conserving natural resources. The Civilian Conservation Corps created public landscapes–natural terrain altered by federal work projects–that helped environmentalism blossom after World War II.
Millions of Americans devoted themselves to a new vision of conservation, one that went beyond the old model of simply maximizing the efficient use of natural resources, to include the promotion of human health through outdoor recreation, wilderness preservation, and ecological balance.
In this video, Doug walked through the West Village NYC in search of the ‘greenest presentation in the neighborhood. He advocates that the neighborhood in New York City can help in keeping the city ‘Green’ and preserve environment by planting trees, flowers, shrubs, vegetables. Even the corporations, shops and restaurants can do the same.
Dan Hillman, the author, is a former world trampoline champion, Stanford gymnastics coach, and Oberlin College professor. Much of Dan’s time is devoted to speaking and leading workshops worldwide. His Way of the Peaceful Warrior teaching have influenced men and women from all walks of life, including leaders in the fields of health, psychology, education, business, politics, sports, entertainment, and the arts.
This is his story…
Dan was an arrogant, famous and agressive world champion gymnast and a junior student at the University of California at Berkeley. Dan had a bad motorcycle accident, broke his leg so badly that the thought of chasing his dream is cloudy. He had difficulty coming to terms with what happened to him. One night, Dan met his powerful 96-year-old mentor Socrates, an all-night gas station attendant. Socrates warned him that night. “You must cleanse your body of tension, free your mind of stagnant knowledge, and open your heart to the energy of true emotion.” True battles are fought within.
At first Socrates shattered every possible ideas that Millman had about academics, athletics, and achievement. But eventually Millman stopped resisting the lessons, and began to try on a whole new ideology–one that valued being conscious over being smart, and strength in spirit over strength in body. Socrates told him that ‘a “Warrior” does not just give up for what he does, he finds love in what he does’. Dan was able to pursue his dream again, becoming a world champion.
